From ‘Forrest Gump’ to ‘Sully’: The Best Tom Hanks Movies

You probably know Tom Hanks as the lovable Forrest Gump from the 1994 movie of the same name. But did you know he’s also an award-winning actor with an illustrious career that spans more than three decades?

In this article, we take a look at some of Tom Hanks’ best movies, from ‘Forrest Gump’ to ‘Sully’. We’ll also highlight his impressive body of work as a producer.

‘Forrest Gump’

You probably know Tom Hanks as the all-American guy who’s starred in some of the biggest movies of all time. But did you know that he got his start in TV commercials?

His big break came with the movie ‘Forrest Gump’. If you haven’t seen it, you need to check it out—it’s one of Hanks’ most iconic roles. The story follows Forrest Gump, a simple man whose life is anything but ordinary. You’ll laugh and cry as you watch him navigate through the ups and downs of the 20th century.

Since then, Hanks has starred in dozens of other movies, including ‘Sully’, ‘The Terminal’, and ‘Cast Away’. He’s a versatile actor who can play any role, and he’s always a pleasure to watch onscreen.

‘Saving Private Ryan’

You’ve probably seen a lot of Tom Hanks movies, but my personal favorite is ‘Saving Private Ryan.’ It’s just an incredibly powerful film, and Hanks delivers an amazing performance.

The story is set in World War II, and Hanks plays Captain John Miller, who’s sent on a mission to save Pvt. Ryan, who’s the last of four brothers and is currently fighting in the war. Miller and his team go behind enemy lines to find Ryan and bring him home.

What I love about this movie is that it’s not just about the war itself—it’s about the human cost of war. It’s a very emotional film, and it really makes you think about the sacrifices that were made during World War II.

‘Cast Away’

Cast Away is one of Tom Hanks’ most iconic roles. You spend the entire movie stranded on a deserted island, and you watch as he slowly starts to lose his mind.

It’s a powerful movie, and it’s a testament to Hanks’ acting skills that he was able to pull it off. The scene where he finally reunites with his family is unforgettable, and it’s one of the best endings to a movie ever.

‘Catch Me if You Can’

You’re probably a fan of Tom Hanks for his role in the 1994 film ‘Forrest Gump.’ But did you know that he’s a great actor in other genres, too?

One of my favorite Tom Hanks movies is ‘Catch Me if You Can,’ where he plays the role of FBI agent Carl Hanratty. The story is about a young man named Frank Abagnale Jr. who scammed his way through life for years by forging checks, pretending to be a doctor, and even impersonating an airline pilot.

It’s an edge-of-your-seat thriller with a great story and some fantastic acting by Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio (who plays Frank Abagnale Jr.). If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend checking it out.

‘The Da Vinci Code’

You may not know this, but Tom Hanks is a huge fan of the art world. In 2006, he starred in The Da Vinci Code, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Dan Brown.

In the movie, Hanks plays Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbologist who becomes involved in a thrilling race against time to uncover a centuries-old secret protected by the Church. The film was a box office success and earned Hanks a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.

‘A Beautiful Mind’

You probably know Tom Hanks from his roles in classic Hollywood movies like ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘Saving Private Ryan’. But did you know that he’s also an accomplished actor who’s won two Academy Awards?

One of my favorite Tom Hanks movies is ‘A Beautiful Mind’. He plays John Nash, a mathematician who suffers from schizophrenia. The movie is based on a true story, and it’s really well-done.

If you’re looking for an introspective movie to watch, I definitely recommend ‘A Beautiful Mind’. It’s one of my all-time favorites.

Tom Hanks is one of America’s most beloved actors, and for good reason. He’s starred in some of the most iconic films of all time, from ‘Forrest Gump’ to ‘Sully’.
